Classic allergy symptoms occur because the body’s immune system loses its tolerance to an otherwise benign allergen that it encounters outside the body. Autoimmune Systems occur when there is an internal antigen or trigger for the immune system, resulting in immune attack of the body’s own tissues. The fundamental similarity then, between classic allergy disorders and autoimmune disorders, is the disordered functioning of the immune system.
This technology was initially developed in Europe since the 1960’s and has been developed in the United States ever since by a small group of physicians.
LDI is thought to work by inducing the production of “activated” T-suppressor cells thereby reducing the allergic and autoimmune response.
Since this therapy targets the regulators of the immune system, the T cells themselves,, LDI can create a much longer lasting desensitization than conventional immunotherapy (ie allergy shots) and can successfully treat cases of autoimmunity by targeting the root cause which is the overactive immune system.
Classic LDI is administered by one or two tiny intradermal (under the skin) injections, usually on the inner aspect of the forearm. Alternative, LDI can be given sublingually, under the tongue .
There has never been a fatal or life-threatening systemic reaction to LDA treatment. The dosage is simply too low for life-threatening reactions to occur.
